With little food and hardly any protection from the cold, street dogs in Romania live in very poor conditions. There is little hope for the animals, as their uncontrolled reproduction is often prevented by killing them.

In 2018, Gut Aiderbichl's Stray Dog Aid was launched. In its specially built animal shelter, homeless dogs are given a safe home and comprehensive medical care. Free castrations, vaccinations, deworming as well as educational work and placement are also part of the project.

Already more than 600 animals could be successfully placed in their new forever homes;
Daily castrations are carried out; not only of street dogs but also of animals whose owners cannot afford it;
150 dogs are already lovingly cared for at the shelter.
