When it comes to natural materials, wood is probably the first thing that springs to your mind. It’s the same for us, too!
That's where everything started for Holzkern. That's why, to this day, many of our products are made almost exclusively from this material! Depending on the type of wood and growing conditions, the grain can vary greatly, giving each wooden element its own unique aesthetic. On top of that, your unique model made from wood not only looks good, but is also very lightweight, providing an incomparable wearing comfort.
Walnut Wood
Elegant & durable. The distinctive grain and the diverse range of colours from chocolate brown to almost black brown make this type of wood one of our favourites for the production of watches, jewellery, sunglasses and handbags. In addition, walnut wood impresses with its high density and the associated stability, which promises your piece of nature a long life! Our walnut wood comes mainly from North America and is 100% FSC certified.

Timeless & elegant. Compared to other types of wood, maple wood impresses with its subtle appearance. The fine and even grain, as well as its light colouring give this wood its timeless charm. For certain designs, we dye our maple wood in different colours, usually black.
Metal-Core Technology
Our Metal-Core technology has been especially developed in order to make our watch constructions with natural materials even more durable. With timepieces that have this special type of construction, the clockwork is encased in an airtight metal jacket that guarantees a waterproofness of up to 5ATM.
We thereby unify the best of two worlds: natural diversity of materials & the longevity of our designs.
