Roald Amundsen was the first human to reach the South Pole on the 14 of December of 1911 and accomplished to unveil the last big unknown space on the world map.
In a tough race between two explorers the Norwegian finished his dark and hard trip slightly earlier than his counterpart Robert F. Scott.
