The Durdle Door is a natural rock bridge formed of limestone and situated on the well known Jurassic Coast in the south of England. As one of the landmarks of the county Dorset the impressive rock formation and the nearby beach are a much visited place and a scenery used in many films already.

Inspired by the dark boulders and the blue of the ocean our model Durdle made of leadwood and lapislazuli is dedicated to this beautiful swimming bay.

It is one of the most popular gemstones and comes from all parts of the world, but mainly from Afghanistan and Chile. Throughout history, this stone has often been associated with royalty and authority and is considered the favourite gemstone of Cleopatra, who had her blue eye shadow made from the precious lapis lazuli.
