Route 66 (Leadwood/Rockgrey)
More about the product
U.S. Route 66 was established in 1926 and stretched all the way from Chicago, Illinois on down to Santa Monica, California. This 2,448 mile stretch of road was an essential route for those migrating west during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s and bolstered the economies of the cities which it connected, thus earning it the nicknames "Main Street of America" and the "Mother Road".
Route 66 was officially removed from the U.S. highway system in 1985 and completely replaced by segments of the Interstate Highway system, though you can still drive parts of it designated as National Scenic Byways.
In American culture Route 66 is synonymous with the spirit of independence, embracing the freedom of adventure, and the journey to a more prosperous life. May this leadwood watch serve as a stylish reminder of this historic highway.
